British magazine ELLE UK has issued a formal apology following accusations of racism directed at BLACKPINK member Rosé.

In a statement posted on their official social media account on the 2nd, ELLE UK stated, "We sincerely apologize for a recent post from Paris Fashion Week in which Rosé of BLACKPINK was cropped out of a group photo for size. We did not mean to offend anyone." The magazine also confirmed that the controversial post has since been deleted.

The controversy erupted when ELLE UK published photos from the Saint Laurent 2026 Spring/Summer Womenswear Collection show in Paris. A group photo featuring Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, and Charli XCX, with Rosé cropped out, was posted by the magazine, sparking widespread criticism and accusations of racial discrimination.

Adding to the backlash, Charli XCX herself posted photos from the event on her social media, including one where Rosé appeared significantly darkened by shadow, further fueling the claims of racism against both the artist and the publication.

Rosé is currently serving as a global ambassador for Saint Laurent. She has also achieved significant success as a solo artist, topping global music charts with her collaboration 'APT.' with Bruno Mars and recently winning the prestigious 'Song of the Year' award at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, marking a milestone in global music history.

Netizens expressed strong dissatisfaction, commenting, "It seems too intentional to be just an editing mistake," and "It's clear racism, not just with Rosé's photo but also Charli XCX's." Many felt the apology was insufficient given the nature of the offense.
