DinDin Sparks Conversation Again with Candid Remarks on Value and Prices
Entertainer DinDin is once again capturing attention for his outspoken opinions.
In a recent episode of Park Na-rae's YouTube channel, 'Narae Sik,' released on the 8th, DinDin, alongside Lee Jang-woo and Key, joined the host for a Chuseok special.
During the broadcast, when a staff member casually remarked on DinDin's increased popularity, he humorously retorted, "Weren't you popular before? That's rude," drawing laughter. Park Na-rae then mentioned seeing news articles about his previous outspoken comments, to which DinDin confessed, "Many celebrities were offended. I received calls threatening to deal with me," expressing his caution. Park Na-rae playfully added, "The Association of Korean Broadcasters is keeping a close eye on you."
This echoes DinDin's earlier viral moment on the web show 'Workman.' While alongside actor Lee Joon, DinDin criticized celebrities' perceived lack of understanding regarding the value of money. When Lee Joon asked a cafe employee if the manager earned around 10 million won per month, DinDin interjected, "This is the problem with celebrities. They have no concept of currency value. Driving supercars, using Jennie's bed… they're out of their minds."
Following up on this, DinDin recently appeared on the KBS 2TV show '2 Days & 1 Night.' He mentioned that his image has significantly improved since appearing on Lee Joon's YouTube channel, leading to numerous advertising offers, and expressed gratitude towards Lee Joon.
Back on 'Narae Sik,' DinDin continued his candid commentary when Park Na-rae inquired about gifts for his nephew. He explained that while he used to give cash as a Chuseok gift, the money was often not used effectively by the child. When asked what they wanted, they'd request items like bicycles or kickboards, which his sister would buy. However, DinDin noted that children quickly lose interest in such expensive items, costing hundreds of thousands of won.
He further questioned the pricing of children's clothing, stating, "Baby clothes use significantly less fabric than adult clothes, yet the price is the same. Even with less filling, why is it the same?" This latest statement has once again garnered significant attention, labeling him a commentator who isn't afraid to speak his mind.
Netizens have lauded DinDin's straightforward remarks, commenting things like 'It's like cider,' 'So refreshing,' and 'Glad he's honest.' His points about the pricing of children's goods, in particular, have resonated strongly with many parents.
