Actor Kweon Yul Dishes on Newlywed Life and Stage Struggles on 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator'

Actor Kweon Yul appeared on JTBC's entertainment program 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,' sharing candid stories about his newlywed life and the challenges of his current theater performance.

Joining him on the show was actor Kim Jae-wook, with whom Kweon Yul is currently performing in the play 'Amadeus.' Regarding the demanding play, Kweon Yul admitted, "Although theater is my major, this is my first commercial play, and I'm going through a lot of hardship." Kim Jae-wook humorously revealed, "It's a role that even veterans struggle with, but you bravely chose it and immediately regretted it."

Kweon Yul elaborated on the difficulties, stating, "For the past two months, the most frequent phrase I utter is 'something went wrong.' I'm on stage for over 140 minutes of the 150-minute play, and the amount of dialogue is immense. It's an intense physical battle." He added, "Eating a banana in the morning actually drained my stamina," highlighting the physical toll.

When MC Kim Sung-joo inquired about his newlywed life following his marriage in May, Kweon Yul responded with a smile, "Yes, I'm happy." His refrigerator, revealed on the show, was impeccably organized, a testament to his personality, which he personally curated. He explained that the white kimchi was from his mother's shop, and the soy sauce for braising was homemade by his father, a chemistry major who also makes soap and shampoo. Notably, when asked about the soy-braised dish made by his wife, he playfully remarked, "It was her first time making it, so it was half a success."

Regarding reports that Kweon Yul's wife is the younger sister of actress Hwang Seung-un, Hwang Seung-un stated to OSEN, "I apologize, but there's nothing I can say regarding that matter," effectively confirming the news while protecting her non-celebrity sister.
