Singer-Songwriter EJAE Publicly Requests Collaboration with BTS's Jungkook

EJAE, the singer-songwriter behind the global hit 'Golden', has publicly expressed his desire to collaborate with BTS member Jungkook.

In a recent interview with JTBC's 'Newsroom', EJAE shared his feelings about 'Golden' topping the US Billboard charts, stating, "I still can't believe it. It feels like a dream."

He recalled that 'Golden', inspired by a moment in a taxi, was a difficult song to record, even bringing him to tears during the demo session. "I was going through a lot back then, but singing the song gave me confidence and hope," he said. "The fact that this song gave me hope and could give hope to others means a lot to me," he added, expressing his pride as a songwriter.

When asked about an artist he'd like to produce for, EJAE immediately chose BTS's Jungkook. "In K-pop, I want to work with BTS, especially Jungkook," he stated. Announcer Ahn Na-kyung then prompted EJAE to directly address Jungkook, suggesting, "Perhaps a collaboration will happen soon."

EJAE shyly but clearly made his request: "Jungkook-ssi. Please consider a collaboration. Thank you." He praised Jungkook's vocal abilities, saying, "He sings so well, and I want to write a great melody for Jungkook-ssi."

"Singing well is important, but conveying the lyrics is the most crucial," EJAE continued. "He really does a fantastic job when singing. His ability to handle melodies and express them through his voice is exceptional."

EJAE also shared that he learned Korean by listening to god's song 'Road', which was a significant inspiration during his growth as an artist. He confessed that the period after his trainee days, when he started making beats, was difficult but also cherished, as he learned to express himself through music.

His goal is to continue growing as an artist and songwriter, aiming to work with composers he admires.

EJAE achieved global success with 'Golden', the theme song for the Netflix animation 'K-Pop Demon Hunters', which held the #1 spot on the Billboard charts for over eight weeks. He is recognized for his unique vocal tone and his ability to produce comfortable and deep sounds, especially in his lower register, overcoming difficult times through music.
