Actor Jin Tae-hyun Celebrates Adopted Daughter Han Ji-hye's 5th Place Finish in Marathon

Actor Jin Tae-hyun has sent a warm congratulatory message after his adopted daughter, marathon runner Han Ji-hye, secured 5th place in a national competition.

On the 19th, Jin Tae-hyun shared his pride on his social media, posting, “Self-celebration! Our Ji-hye placed 5th again this year at the 106th National Sports Festival!! Gyeonggi Province representative Han Ji-hye! So proud, so amazing, let’s gain more experience! It’s just the beginning! Fighting, Korean women’s marathon!”

He also released a short video clip of Han Ji-hye crossing the finish line, adding the caption, “National 5th place marathoner! Amazing! Let’s go home to sleep.” The video showed Han Ji-hye collapsing onto the track, catching her breath after giving her all, capturing the intensity of the race.

Previously, on the 17th, Jin Tae-hyun had expressed his affection, stating, “Our daughter Han Ji-hye, who calls us ‘Mom and Dad,’ is participating as a marathon runner in the 106th National Sports Festival held in Busan.” He continued, “The countless drops of sweat shed over the summer are the result of sincere training. When Ji-hye first told us, ‘I want to become a good adult like you two,’ those words deeply resonated. We vowed to become truly good adults for her, and we became a family who eats and takes care of each other.” He shared this as the reason behind their adoption.

Jin Tae-hyun also mentioned, “This race isn’t being broadcast live, so I plan to cheer even harder. While rankings aren't everything, results and records are important for athletes.” He added, “I hope she experiences pushing her limits and running to the very end. Although I am not her biological father, as a family member who has always watched her training process, I sincerely cheer for her completion.”

Meanwhile, Jin Tae-hyun married actress Park Si-eun in 2015 and has been consistently involved in volunteer work. After adopting their first daughter, Davida, they welcomed two more daughters, including marathon runner Han Ji-hye, into their family, providing unwavering financial and emotional support. Recently, Jin Tae-hyun had shared news of his thyroid cancer diagnosis, which saddened many, but he is reportedly recovering well after successful surgery.
