Model and Broadcaster Lee Hyun-yi Recovers After Nasal Fracture During Variety Show Filming

Model and broadcaster Lee Hyun-yi has shared an update on her condition after sustaining a nasal bone fracture during the filming of a variety show, leading to a month-long hiatus.

In a recent video on her YouTube channel, 'Working Mom Lee Hyun-yi,' she stated, "My nose got broken. I couldn't do anything for a month and just stayed home." She added, "As soon as I took the splint off, I came to see you all."

Lee Hyun-yi explained the incident that occurred during a match on SBS's 'Kick a Goal,' where she attempted a header and collided with an opponent's head. "If I were a professional, I would have looked around, but I just ran, focusing only on the ball. It was 100% my fault, an accident," she recounted calmly.

Regarding surgery, she clarified, "They didn't insert any plates or supports. They just used instruments to realign the broken bone to its original shape." She noted, "It's said to take three months for it to completely solidify. Being older, I need to be more careful."

The swelling and external appearance have significantly subsided, and she is gradually resuming her broadcasting schedule. Lee Hyun-yi had previously updated her fans via social media, mentioning, "My eagerness led to a nasal fracture. I'm recovering well."

The incident has also drawn attention to the production environment and safety management of the program. It was revealed that SBS has a workers' compensation insurance system in place, sparking interest in the actual training intensity and safety protocols of the show.

In her update video, Lee Hyun-yi showcased her daily fashion, including autumn-themed one-mile wear, slacks, and cardigans, reconnecting with fans through her characteristic cheerful demeanor. "If you buy something, you have to wear it diligently," she declared, expressing her determination to return. Lee Hyun-yi plans to balance rehabilitation with her activities as she works to regain her full condition.
