Japanese Actress Tomoko Takahashi Passes Away Suddenly in Tragic Traffic Accident

Tragic news has emerged as Japanese actress Tomoko Takahashi has passed away due to a sudden traffic accident.

On October 18th (local time), Takahashi's agency, One Production, released an official statement confirming, "Our agency's actress, Tomoko Takahashi, passed away suddenly in a traffic accident in the early morning of October 16, 2025."

The agency expressed their disbelief, stating, "It is still hard to believe such a sudden event. Tomoko Takahashi was a founding member of our company and was passionately active. She was loved by many for her strong sense of responsibility and deep affection. We are sincerely grateful for the achievements she left behind."

They added, "In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral will be held quietly with only family and close relatives in attendance. We express our deepest gratitude to everyone who sent warm support and encouragement during her lifetime."

The accident occurred on October 16th in Nerima Ward, Tokyo, when Takahashi was struck by a car while riding her bicycle. The driver was reportedly drowsy at the wheel. Police arrested the suspect on October 17th on charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Fatal Accidents Caused by Driving and Violation of the Road Traffic Act (Hit-and-Run).

Tomoko Takahashi was known for her roles in various productions, including TV Asahi's 'Kinkyū Torishirabeshitsu' (Emergency Interrogation Room) and TV Tokyo's 'Last Doctor'.
