Immersive Exhibition 'MetaSensing' Explores Future of Senses with AI and XR
An immersive art exhibition titled 'MetaSensing – Sensing Space', which transcends senses and spaces through AI and XR technologies, is set to meet audiences.
Co-hosted by the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) and the Cultural Department of the French Embassy in Korea, the exhibition will be held from November 7th to 16th at Platform-L Contemporary Art Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Part of an ongoing France-Korea digital art collaboration since 2020, 'MetaSensing' sheds light on a new sensory ecosystem of technology, nature, and humanity by interpreting the rapidly evolving AI and XR technologies through artistic language.
Starting with the concept of 'technology that senses space,' the exhibition captures moments where senses, space, nature, and virtual reality intersect within artworks. Various new media formats, including VR, installations, and AI films, are expected to offer visitors an experience-centric sensory expansion.
Each artwork is structured through the process of 'Perception–Transformation–Reconstruction.' Within this flow, visitors will directly experience the boundary between digital technology and senses, confronting the question of 'How does technology reconstruct our senses?'
'MetaSensing – Sensing Space' is poised to be a platform for experimenting with the future of senses beyond the boundaries of art and technology, and a significant exhibition proposing a sustainable art ecosystem between France and Korea.
Netizens expressed excitement for the exhibition, commenting, "The fusion of AI and art sounds fascinating," "I want to experience XR technology firsthand," and "Looking forward to the collaborative exhibition with France." The general sentiment is anticipation for this innovative blend of technology and art.
