Super Junior's Choi Siwon Reveals Reading List from South America Tour, Including 'Kim Jong-un Will Collapse This Way'
Super Junior member Choi Siwon has unveiled a thought-provoking reading list that has captured public attention.
On the 20th, Siwon shared photos of three books he read during his South America tour on his social media account, along with his personal reflections.
He mused, "Although the topics are different, they are perhaps mysteriously connected, converging into one." He posed questions for the modern era: "In this rapidly changing age, with what mindset should we prepare to face the world? What kind of hearts do those who subtly bring about change in the world possess?"
Furthermore, he shared, "The coming unification will clearly be an 'opportunity,' not just a burden," stating, "The foundation and basis for all of that lies in the 'Gospel.'"
Notably, one of the books, titled 'Kim Jong-un Will Collapse This Way,' drew significant attention. Published in 2014, the book by North Korean human rights activist Kim Sung-wook emphasizes the dire reality in North Korea and how to respond to the potential collapse of the regime.
This follows a previous controversy where Siwon faced backlash for mourning the death of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed in a shooting. Some fans expressed disappointment, interpreting his actions as support for Kirk's far-right political views, which included accusations of racism and homophobia. At the time, Siwon deleted the post and clarified that he was mourning the tragic death of an individual and head of a family, not endorsing any specific political stance.
Netizens commented, "Siwon's book taste is intriguing," "It's a bit unexpected to publicly mention a book about North Korea," and "I'm worried he might stir up controversy again."
