Comedienne Park So-young Rushed to ER Due to IVF Side Effects: 'Severe Abdominal Pain'
Comedian Park So-young has shared her experience of being rushed to the emergency room due to side effects following an egg retrieval procedure for in vitro fertilization (IVF).
On the 15th, Park So-young uploaded a video on her YouTube channel, 'Juboo-dwa-sssoyeong' (I Became a Housewife), with the title 'Emergency Situation During Pregnancy Preparation?! ER Visit Review!'.
In the video, Park So-young, with a pained expression, described her ordeal: 'After finishing work and coming home, I couldn't go to the bathroom for five days. My stomach hurt so much, but nothing was happening even when I sat there.'
She continued, 'The abdominal pain intensified, and I was told to go to the ER immediately if the pain was severe after egg retrieval. I couldn't even straighten my back. I'm heading to the ER as soon as my husband finishes work. I hoped it was just abdominal pain and not ascites.'
After receiving painkillers at the ER and feeling somewhat better, Park So-young turned on her camera again the next day at home. She added, 'Yesterday was a terrible day. I couldn't use the restroom for a week after the egg retrieval. Initially, I had some diarrhea, but after the injection, I completely lost the ability to go.'
Her examination revealed that her large intestine was completely filled and had hardened, preventing normal activity and causing swelling. Fortunately, her condition improved after an enema.
Park So-young concluded, 'Those preparing for pregnancy with hormone injections are truly amazing. I now understand what it means to be unable to go to the bathroom. I will try to manage my health better in the future.'
Park So-young married former baseball player Moon Kyung-chan in December last year.
Netizens expressed sympathy and support, commenting, 'You went through so much,' 'I've had a similar experience and know how difficult it must have been,' and 'Please take good care of your health!'
