Singer Kim Heung-gook Announces Return to Entertainment Scene, Vows to Shed Political Image

Veteran singer Kim Heung-gook has announced his comeback to the entertainment industry, declaring his intention to completely step away from his previous political stances.

Through his agency, Daebak Entertainment, on the 20th, Kim stated, "I will now stand by the people with songs and variety shows."

He further expressed, "I will put aside political talk and focus on smiling and singing on stage. Politics was not my path. I am happiest when I bring laughter to people and sing together."

Kim added, "If I can bring laughter and hope to the nation once again, that will be the start of my second act. I want to become the nation's 'Tiger Butterfly' once more."

Park Tae-seok, CEO of Daebak Entertainment, commented, "Kim Heung-gook is shedding the strong political image he's held for a long time and is aiming to return to his original role as a singer and entertainer, which garnered him immense public love."

He continued, "While many might find it difficult to believe, our staff has had extensive conversations with Kim Heung-gook, repeatedly confirming his sincerity and resolve." He confidently conveyed, "We are conveying his promise to completely erase his political colors and stand again as Kim Heung-gook on stage."

Previously, Kim Heung-gook openly supported former President Yoon Suk-yeol, attending rallies to prevent his arrest, which led to him earning the unfortunate nickname 'Rebellion Butterfly' (Naeran Navi), a play on his hit song 'Tiger Butterfly' (Horangnabi).
