ATBO's Jung Seung-hwan Quietly Enlists Today (20th), Leaves Heartfelt Letter for Fans

Boy group ATBO member Jung Seung-hwan has begun his mandatory military service, enlisting today, July 20th.

His agency, IST Entertainment, confirmed his enlistment in an official statement, announcing, "Jung Seung-hwan has entered the Nonsan Army Training Center today to fulfill his military duty."

The agency explained the reason for the quiet enlistment: "As per Jung Seung-hwan's wishes to enlist privately, we were unable to inform fans in advance. We ask for your understanding."

Prior to his departure, Jung Seung-hwan penned a personal letter to his fans, expressing his thoughts. "I'm sorry to have surprised you all with such sudden news," he wrote. "After much consideration, I believe that completing this significant life task, military service, quickly and returning is the best way to meet you more often and for longer."

He added a promise, stating, "Although I will be a soldier for a while, I have no intention of stopping my artistic pursuits. I will absolutely return," vowing to come back a more developed artist.

Jung Seung-hwan debuted as a member of ATBO in 2022 through the audition program 'THE ORIGIN - A, B, Or What?'.

Fans are expressing a mix of sadness and support following the unexpected announcement of Jung Seung-hwan's enlistment. Comments like, "I was surprised by the sudden news, but I support Seunghwan's decision," and "Stay healthy and come back safely!," along with "I was touched reading your letter. We'll be waiting," have flooded fan communities.
