Bae Jung-nam Bids Heartbreaking Farewell to Beloved Dog Bell on 'My Little Old Boy'
Actor Bae Jung-nam shared an emotional farewell with his cherished companion, his dog Bell, on the latest episode of SBS's 'My Little Old Boy' (Mi Woo Sae), leaving viewers in tears.
Bell, who had miraculously recovered from a spinal cord injury that led to paralysis, passed away suddenly last month due to a heart attack. The broadcast captured the painful moments as Bae Jung-nam stayed by Bell's side until the very end.
Visibly distraught, Bae Jung-nam wept, saying, "You could have lived just a little longer." He continued to cry at the crematorium, lamenting, "Dad is sorry, why didn't you stay a little longer?"
Later, holding Bell's ashes, he expressed his grief, "Why did you become so small? Rest peacefully now, without pain." His raw emotion deeply resonated with the audience.
Having grown up without a family, Bell was more than just a pet to Bae Jung-nam; Bell was his family, friend, and the reason for his life. He shared that meeting Bell was the first time he felt he had a family.
In his final message to Bell on the show, Bae Jung-nam said, "Thank you for coming to me. Dad loves you very much." He later posted photos of Bell enjoying life on his social media, cherishing their memories.
Previously, Bae Jung-nam had mentioned in an April broadcast that he would consider marriage once his dog's health improved, expressing a desire for a simple family life and even a dream of living in a traditional Korean house (hanok).
Netizens expressed their sympathy, commenting, "It was so touching to see him stay until the end," "You can truly feel how much he loved Bell," and "We hope he finds healing and starts a new family soon."
