The shocking truth behind the murder of a wife by a top-scoring medical student, who later attempted to jump from a building, will be unveiled.

On May 6, 2024, an emergency call reported a man standing precariously on the rooftop ledge of a 15-story building. Responding emergency services and police rescued the man, identified as Mr. Choi, who resisted their efforts. However, when police returned to the building to retrieve a bag the man had left on the roof, they discovered a horrific scene: a woman in her 20s, backpack on, had been brutally murdered, bleeding profusely.

The victim sustained dozens of attacks to her left carotid artery, severing the vessel and exposing muscle, indicating a savage killing. Police immediately suspected the man involved in the recent suicide attempt was connected. Investigations revealed the man was a student at a prestigious medical university, having achieved a perfect score on the national college entrance exam, and was already married to the victim.

As the investigation, including phone records, progressed, the shocking truth behind Mr. Choi's actions came to light.

Broadcaster Ahn Hyun-mo expressed her outrage, stating, "I cannot comprehend the reason for brutally murdering his wife, to whom he had even legally married." Lee Ji-hye was visibly moved, commenting, "The bizarre actions of the perpetrator, which were not well-covered by media reports, are astonishing." She added, unable to hold back tears, "I cannot imagine the depth of pain the bereaved family must be experiencing."

The program will feature the victim's father sharing the tragic events that befell his family, and Dr. Lee Kwang-min, a psychiatrist, will analyze the perpetrator's motive and potential psychological issues.

The case, titled 'The Murder Case of the Top-Scoring Medical Student,' will be broadcast on KBS2's 'Smoking Gun' on Tuesday, the 21st, at 9:45 PM.

Korean netizens expressed a mix of shock and anticipation. Comments included, "Finally, the truth is coming out," "A perfect score student... what could have driven him to such a crime?" and "Deepest condolences to the victim's family."
