Singer-songwriter Song Sohee, who has carved out her unique musical genre, sings about the cycles and recovery of life with her new EP.

Song Sohee will release her second EP, 'Re:5', on various music platforms this coming 21st at 6 PM KST. Following the official announcement of the EP's release, she had heightened anticipation by sequentially unveiling album cover art, concept photos, track previews, and music video teasers.

'Re:5', produced with support from CJ Culture Foundation's 'Tune Up' program, marks her first album in about one year and six months since her debut EP 'Aerial Dance' was released in April 2024.

Notably, the album stands out with its unique composition, interpreting the principles of the five elements (Wu Xing) across its five distinct tracks. It features 'Ashine!' inspired by the nature of Wood (木), followed by 'Broken Things' embodying the flowing nature of Water (水), the first title track 'Hamba Kahle' representing Earth (土), 'A Blind Runner' signifying Fire (火), and finally, the second title track 'Love of Alaska - Sea' drawing from the essence of Metal (金).

The music video for the first title track, 'Hamba Kahle', released alongside the EP, is inspired by the legend of Princess Bari. Song Sohee appears as a guide in 'Purgatory,' bridging the living and the afterlife, healing the deceased and leading them to the next world. Through visuals of a purgatory imbued with the symbolism of the five directions and five elements, and a performance comforting the departed, the video visually portrays death not as an end, but as the beginning of another journey. The narrative is enhanced by captivating dance performances, with the involvement of the SAL dance team and movement director Jin-ho Bae, the artistic director of SAL.

Having started her musical journey as a traditional Korean folk singer at a young age, Song Sohee has continuously expanded her musical scope based on the resonance of traditional music. Through releases like the single 'Cloud Cape Journey : Journey to Utopia' (2022), 'Infodemics' and 'The World is a Mirror' (Asurajang) (2023), the EP 'Aerial Dance' (2024), and the single 'Not a Dream', she has solidified her identity as a 'contemporary music singer-songwriter'.

Meanwhile, Song Sohee's second EP 'Re:5' is available on all music platforms starting today (21st) at 6 PM KST. She is also scheduled to hold a solo concert on December 6th and 7th.

Fans are expressing excitement, with comments like 'Song Sohee's music always offers new interpretations' and 'The five elements theme is so fresh!' Many are also looking forward to her upcoming concert.
