Jeon So-min and Hyojung Join 'The Great Escape 2.5' for Mount Baekdu Adventure

Actress Jeon So-min and Oh My Girl's Hyojung are set to join MBC Every1's variety show, 'The Great Escape 2.5 - Daedanan Guide,' as new travel mates.

Premiering on the 28th, 'The Great Escape 2.5' is a spin-off program that presents a delightful travelogue, easily followable by viewers, ahead of the main journey of 'The Great Escape 3.' All season 2 members, including Park Myeong-soo, Kim Dae-ho, Choi Daniel, Lee Mu-jin, Jeon So-min, and Hyojung, are confirmed to return, with new addition Park Ji-min adding to the anticipation.

The first destination for this season 2.5 is the sacred Mount Baekdu, a journey undertaken by Kim Dae-ho, Choi Daniel, Jeon So-min, and Hyojung. Notably, Jeon So-min and Hyojung, who previously shone as studio panelists, will now participate directly in the travel, adding a unique dimension to their experience.

Jeon So-min revealed that Choi Daniel recommended her for the show. She shared, "When I was younger, I didn't have the leisure to take on such challenges, and as I got older, my curiosity waned, diminishing my desire for travel. I thought, 'If not now, new travel experiences will forever be pushed aside,' so I gathered the courage to go together." She added, "I wouldn't have considered going if it weren't for 'The Great Escape.' I was accustomed to familiar journeys, so I embarked on this trip with mixed feelings of anticipation and worry," heightening curiosity about her new experiences on Mount Baekdu.

Hyojung stated, "Unlike my usual travels, 'The Great Escape' felt fresh and immersive. While watching the 'Daesoo' (Kim Dae-ho, Choi Daniel, Park Myeong-soo) members travel via VCR in the studio, I thought, 'I really want to be a part of that.' This time, I decided to participate because I wanted to experience those full emotions firsthand by diving in myself." As the eldest member and leader of Oh My Girl, Hyojung expressed her happiness at joining this trip as the maknae (youngest member), raising expectations for her performance among the seasoned cast.

The journey to Mount Baekdu with Jeon So-min and Hyojung will first air on Tuesday, the 28th, at 7:30 PM on MBC Every1.
