Actor Heo Seong-tae is set to captivate audiences once again, this time venturing into the crime comedy genre with the upcoming film 'The Informant'.

Slated for release on December 3rd, 'The Informant' features Heo Seong-tae in the role of Oh Nam-hyeok, a detective entangled in criminal activities. The movie tells the story of Oh Nam-hyeok, a former ace detective who has lost his passion, drive, and investigative instincts after a demotion, and a street informant, Jo Tae-bong, who has been profiting from supplying information on major cases. Their lives collide when they unexpectedly get involved in a massive scheme, leading to a chaotic crime action comedy.

Directed and written by Kim Seok, marking his directorial debut, the film casts Heo Seong-tae as Oh Nam-hyeok, a detective who seeks a big score using an informant after his demotion due to the failure of the 'Bridge Project'. Known for his powerful presence in various crime thrillers, Heo Seong-tae is expected to showcase a different side of his acting prowess with comedic performances, aiming to charm global viewers.

Prior to its release, 'The Informant' garnered attention after being selected as the opening film for the 24th New York Asian Film Festival in July. Heo Seong-tae attended the festival, actively engaging with fans from the opening red carpet to the Q&A sessions, further amplifying the anticipation for the movie.

Heo Seong-tae, who debuted through SBS's 'The Great Audition' in 2011, has established himself as a 'reliable actor' through diverse works such as the films 'The Outlaws', 'The Age of Shadows', and the Disney+ original series 'Casino' and Coupang Play series 'Bait'. His portrayal of Jang Deok-su, the formidable villain in the Netflix series 'Squid Game', earned him global recognition and cemented his status as a standout performer.

More recently, in the drama 'The Good Boy', which concluded in July, he played Go Man-sik, the team leader of the violent crimes unit, receiving immense love from viewers. He delicately depicted the multifaceted charm of Go Man-sik, a former wrestler, seamlessly transitioning from intense action to unexpected comedic moments, creating another memorable character.

Fans can witness Heo Seong-tae's unique charm in 'The Informant', opening nationwide in theaters on December 3rd.

Korean netizens expressed excitement, commenting, 'Heo Seong-tae is challenging a new genre again, I'm looking forward to it!', 'I thought he would only play villains after Jang Deok-su in Squid Game, but a comedy action movie is so fresh,' and 'His acting spectrum is truly wide, I have to go see the movie.'
