Mr. Na from 'I Am Solo: Love Continues' Addresses 'Bullying Controversy' Involving 23rd Oksoon
Mr. Na (real name Park Jae-seong), a cast member from the show 'I Am Solo: Love Continues' (hereinafter referred to as 'NaSolSaGye'), has spoken out about the 'bullying controversy' surrounding 23rd Oksoon.
In a lengthy post on his social media on the 21st, Mr. Na emphasized, 'There may be individual circumstances, but you shouldn't label them as mass bullying or ostracism.' He further stated, 'I felt compelled to speak out because the cast members who appeared together were suffering from personal attacks and private messages, and I couldn't stand by and watch any longer.'
Regarding 23rd Oksoon's attitude, he claimed, 'She ultimately made the other cast members out to be bad people, like a tragic heroine.' He also pointed out that his relationship with 23rd Oksoon was strained even before filming, and she made a fellow contestant uncomfortable by mentioning her ex-boyfriend during the broadcast.
He also criticized her for monopolizing opportunities through lengthy conversations with some male contestants, adding, 'It affected the development of other contestants' romantic interests.'
Furthermore, he addressed the editing process. Mr. Na mentioned, 'She disparaged 24th Oksoon during a conversation with a male contestant, but that scene was not broadcast due to an editing request,' suggesting that this could make other cast members appear unfairly.
Mr. Na reiterated, 'It's possible to dislike someone, but it's wrong to view it as unilateral harassment.' He concluded, 'I spoke out because I know that if I remain silent, there will be no one left to speak for me.'
Meanwhile, Mr. Na and 24th Oksoon became a final couple on 'NaSolSaGye,' but they have not developed into a real-life couple.
Korean netizens reacted to Mr. Na's statement with comments like, 'Mr. Na's perspective makes sense,' 'The power of editing is scary,' and 'I think I judged too quickly based on the broadcast.' The discussion reflects a variety of opinions.
