Hybe's Latin Boy Group 'Santos Bravos' Set to Debut with Track '0%'; World-Class Producer on Board
Hybe's highly anticipated Latin boy group, Santos Bravos, is on the cusp of their official debut.
The final five members, selected through the reality series of the same name that began in mid-August, will unveil their debut song '0%' at a concert held at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City on the 22nd (KST).
The debut track '0%' carries a positive message of 'not caring about others' perceptions and enjoying the moment,' set to a beat that pulsates like a heartbeat. The song's musical quality is further elevated by producer Johnny Goldstein, known for his collaborations with global pop icons such as The Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, and Madonna.
Prior to the music release, behind-the-scenes footage from the '0%' music video shoot recently surfaced on social media, generating significant buzz. The dynamic scenes of the prospective members freely navigating through stacks of cars and motorcycles in a junkyard have excited viewers.
Tickets for Santos Bravos' debut concert have already sold out, demonstrating the immense local fan enthusiasm. Initially planned for 5,000 seats, an additional 5,000 were opened due to high demand, with all 10,000 seats quickly snapped up. The concert will be livestreamed on the official Hybe Labels YouTube channel.
Immediately following their concert, Santos Bravos will embark on a global journey, with a special session titled 'The Building of Santos Bravos' scheduled during Billboard Latin Music Week on the 23rd. This marks the group's invitation to a major event even before their official debut.
Santos Bravos members will join Jaime Escallón, the executive producer of the reality series, and Leila Cobo, Billboard Latin's Chief Content Officer, to showcase the excellence of K-pop training and production systems. Hybe's 'Multi-home, multi-genre' strategy, which applies the 'K-pop methodology' adapted to local cultures and characteristics to discover global stars, is expected to garner attention once again.
Juan S. Arenas, COO of Hybe Latin America, emphasized, "The core of Santos Bravos lies in building the group's identity by combining thorough training, creativity, and fan participation, based on the methodology and vision designed by Chairman Bang Si-hyuk." He added, "Santos Bravos will present a new model in the Latin music scene."
Kwon Ae-young, Leader of Hybe Latin America's T&D (Training & Development) Center, stated, "'Santos Bravos' was designed to cultivate musicians who will lead the next decade of Latin pop, encompassing stage presence, vocals, artist identity, and branding." She asked fans to "look forward to the journey these five members will embark on."
Netizens are excited about the debut, with comments like "Finally debuting! Latin K-pop sounds so fresh!" and "The members look great, hoping the debut song is amazing too." Many are anticipating Hybe's global strategy to succeed with this new group.
