Musical actress Ok Joo-hyun has directly addressed suspicions of 'hidden advertising' surrounding her recent YouTube video detailing her hair care routine.

On the 21st, Ok Joo-hyun uploaded a video titled 'Reading Comments is an Excuse...' to her YouTube channel, 'Nung Joo-hyun.' In the video, she candidly shared her thoughts on the comments received on her previous video, clarifying the controversy.

Earlier, on the 17th, Ok Joo-hyun had revealed her hair care routine for overcoming hair loss concerns, including products and methods, on her channel. However, following the video's release, some netizens raised questions about whether she was being paid to promote the products.

Responding to comments like 'Why is this so expensive?' and 'Would anyone actually pay that much?', Ok Joo-hyun stated, 'I've tried so many different things, and recently I'm researching and experimenting with another hair essence that's very alluring to me. That one is also incredibly expensive. So many wonderful things are being developed in the world, and I'm investing a lot with the mindset of trying everything out.'

She further explained, 'Actually, before using these products, I spent millions of won per month for years on hair care items for hair loss prevention. But my thought was that my hair is more important than money.' She added, 'Due to my profession, my scalp naturally gets hotter. When it feels hot, my hair truly becomes thinner.'

'Many viewers think I made this video for advertising fees, but many people around me, including fellow actors, have seen the change in my hair and asked, 'What happened?' and 'What should I use to achieve this?' They ended up buying these products,' she revealed. 'My hair suddenly became so dense, and I started confidently parting it, so many people asked me. At one point, I made a video explaining the order of using the products and sent it to my acquaintances. As the number of people asking increased, I thought it would be good to share how to use them effectively, and that was my initial motivation,' she shared.

Ok Joo-hyun mentioned, 'Honestly, these products are not more expensive than other brands I've used for over 10 years. I saw significant results for the price, and I'm still seeing new hair growth.' She added, 'People who have many concerns [about hair loss] cut back on other expenses to invest heavily in this. That's how I am.'

She also explained the background of the product event: 'I asked the company to give subscribers a special discount, so I included a link. In my experience, you can't just use these for a short period. Because you quickly realize how good they are, I thought it would be good to stock up when the opportunity arises, so I put together a few sets.'

Regarding the reaction, 'So it's an ad after all?', she emphasized, 'I'm telling you it's not an ad. I admit it looks like an ad, but I filmed this because I received so many questions that I couldn't possibly explain them all individually.' Ok Joo-hyun stressed, 'Everything was paid for with my own money. I plan to continue this 'Tem-Goo Life' series focusing on hair care items in this manner. I'm not saying I'll only use expensive products. I try a wide variety, both expensive and affordable,' she said.

Finally, Ok Joo-hyun stated, 'These products might not yield the same results for everyone as they did for me. It can differ from person to person. However, I plan to gather and introduce items that many people can agree have shown 'real effectiveness.' She added, 'I'm reading all kinds of comments, both fun and sometimes aggressive. You can just skip the first episode of 'Tem-Goo Life' if you want, but it will be very useful for those who use these products.'
