MimiMinu (30, real name Kim Min-woo), a popular edutainment content creator, is facing a lawsuit filed by a former guest from his YouTube channel. The accusations include defamation and insult.

According to police reports on the 21st, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul received the complaint against Kim earlier this month from an individual identified as 'A,' a person in their 20s, and has initiated an investigation.

In the complaint, A claims that Kim's on-air statements, which suggested past allegations concerning A were true, caused severe psychological distress. A had appeared on Kim's YouTube channel in February of last year but later withdrew after rumors surfaced on online communities about an alleged laptop theft from a friend during A's high school years.

The lawsuit states that when Kim mentioned these allegations during a subsequent live broadcast in a manner implying their truthfulness, A became the target of malicious online comments. A has reportedly sought treatment for bipolar disorder and even contemplated extreme measures due to the situation.

MimiMinu, with approximately 1.87 million subscribers, is known for his content offering college entrance exam strategies and study methods, drawing from his personal experience of successfully entering Korea University after five attempts.

Korean netizens expressed concern, with comments such as "The impact of a single broadcast by a YouTuber is truly significant," "Regardless of the truth, the person involved must have suffered greatly," and "I hope the truth comes out soon."
