NewJeans' 'Cookie' Surpasses 300 Million Streams on Spotify, Marking Another Milestone

K-pop sensation NewJeans has achieved another significant milestone as their debut album track 'Cookie' has surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.

According to Spotify data on January 30th, 'Cookie' had garnered 300,136,696 streams as of January 28th, making it NewJeans' eighth song to reach the 300 million stream mark.

Released in August 2022, 'Cookie' features a minimalist hip-hop beat combined with playful sounds and sweet lyrics. Despite being over three years old, the song continues to be cherished by fans globally.

The debut album, which includes 'Cookie', created a global phenomenon upon its release. American music magazine Rolling Stone recently included NewJeans' 'Hype Boy' in their '250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century', praising it as "an infectious track that blends modern sound with retro sensibilities."

NewJeans now boasts a total of 15 songs with over 100 million streams on Spotify, including 'OMG' and 'Ditto' (over 800 million), 'Super Shy' and 'Hype Boy' (over 700 million), 'Attention' (over 500 million), 'New Jeans' and 'ETA' (over 400 million), 'Cookie' (over 300 million), and 'Hurt', 'Cool With You', 'How Sweet' (over 200 million), as well as 'ASAP', 'Get Up', 'Supernatural', and 'Bubble Gum' (over 100 million each). The group's total cumulative streams on Spotify exceed 6.8 billion.

Meanwhile, on the same day, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of ADOR in a lawsuit filed by the agency against the five NewJeans members regarding the validity of their exclusive contracts.

Fans are celebrating the achievement, commenting, 'NewJeans is on fire! So proud of them,' and 'Cookie was a hit from the start, glad to see it get so much love.' Many express anticipation for their future releases.
