Ryu Jun-yeol Makes a Surprise Appearance in 'Reply 1988' 10th Anniversary Content, Reunion with Hyeri Unlikely

Actor Ryu Jun-yeol has partially joined the 10th-anniversary content for the tvN drama 'Reply 1988' (hereinafter 'Reply 1988'), raising fans' anticipation.

A representative from tvN stated in a call with Sports Seoul on the 30th, "Although Ryu Jun-yeol could not attend the entire MT schedule for the 'Reply 1988' 10th anniversary due to personal schedules, he adjusted his time to participate in some of the filming as it is content commemorating the drama's 10th anniversary."

Egg is Coming, the production company of 'Reply 1988,' is preparing special content to celebrate the drama's 10th anniversary. Recently, director Shin Won-ho and key cast members went on a group MT, which was also attended by Hyeri, who played the leading female role.

Ryu Jun-yeol was initially expected to be unable to join the 10th-anniversary content due to his filming schedule for the Netflix drama 'No. 1 Treason: The Revolt of the Villains.' However, considering the significance of the 'Reply 1988' 10th anniversary, it is reported that he made time to participate in some of the filming amidst his busy schedule.

'Reply 1988,' which first aired in November 2015, depicted the warm and humorous stories of five families in a neighborhood in Ssangmun-dong, achieving a peak viewership rating of 18.8% and receiving nationwide love.

Meanwhile, Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri, who became a couple through 'Reply 1988,' officially announced their breakup in November 2023. While there was much attention on whether the two would reunite in the 10th-anniversary content, it has been confirmed that their reunion did not occur during this filming.
