MBN’s Wednesday-Thursday mini-series ‘The First Lady’ aired its finale on the 30th, concluding with a profound and miraculous ending that saw characters atoning for tragedies born from desire and greed.

The final episode depicted Cha Soo-yeon (Yoo Jin) admitting her role in a past fire incident and confessing to her husband, Hyun Min-cheol (Ji Hyun-woo), that she had used him for revenge, not love. Despite this heartbreaking revelation, Hyun Min-cheol chose to embrace his wife with love and ultimately sacrificed himself to save their daughter, Hyun Ji-yu (Park Seo-kyung), from kidnapping by Yang Hoon (Lee Si-kang), leading to a collapse at a chemical plant.

Although Hyun Min-cheol was initially reported missing after the incident, his survival was miraculously confirmed in the closing moments, leaving viewers with a powerful sense of closure. Shin Hae-rin (Lee Min-young) also hinted at his survival, fueling anticipation for his return.

Cha Soo-yeon resolved to reveal the truth and take responsibility, expressing her earnest hope for her husband's return: “I don’t know if my husband saved the world. But he saved me. Now it’s my turn to save him.”
