A scandal has erupted as renowned Variety PD 'A', known for producing several popular entertainment series over the years, faces a lawsuit for alleged sexual coercion.

According to a media report on the 31st, Ms. B, who was working with PD A on a new season program, filed a complaint with the Seoul Mapo Police Station in August, accusing A of sexual coercion.

Reports indicate that Ms. B stated during police investigations that after a company dinner, PD A made unwanted physical contact. When she resisted, she claims she faced verbally abusive remarks and an abrupt dismissal from the program.

Ms. B asserted that she had participated in all stages of the program, from planning and casting to production and pre-filming, right up until just before broadcast. However, she was informed of her dismissal approximately two months before the show's premiere following the alleged incident.

In addition to the sexual coercion complaint, Ms. B had also reported incidents of sexual harassment and workplace bullying to her company. However, a recent internal investigation by the company reportedly acknowledged some aspects of the alleged sexual coercion but found no evidence of bullying.

Ms. B's legal representative informed the media outlet, "This incident has caused Ms. B significant psychological distress and professional damages. Her sudden removal also created confusion among other production staff who had to cover her workload."

They added, "Ms. B initially sought an internal resolution to avoid harming the program and requested a comprehensive review by the HR team regarding the investigation, judgment, disciplinary actions, prevention of recurrence, and victim relief."

However, Ms. B's side explained that they resorted to filing a police report because the company's internal measures were deemed insufficient.

PD A, on the other hand, reportedly denies all allegations. Both PD A and Ms. B have filed objections against the company's findings, including the part where sexual coercion was partially acknowledged.

Korean netizens expressed outrage, commenting, "How could a PD do such a thing?" and "I support the victim's courage." Many are calling for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.
