Soyou Receives Apology from Delta Air Lines Amid Discrimination Claims; Vows Strong Action Against Rumors
Singer Soyou has announced that she has received an apology from Delta Air Lines following allegations of racial discrimination experienced on a flight.
In a lengthy post on her personal social media on the 31st, Soyou stated, "As false information and rumors are still being indiscriminately spread regarding the incidents that occurred on my return flight last week, I am writing to provide accurate details."
She explained, "After contemplating the series of events throughout the flight, I submitted a complaint form to the flight attendants before landing. This week, I received an apology via email from Delta Air Lines."
Soyou also expressed gratitude, saying, "I am thankful to everyone who empathized with my experience and worried about me over the past week. I apologize for causing concern with a personal matter." She added that thanks to the support she received for her courageous post, she has been able to return to her daily life.
However, Soyou emphasized, "The fact that I have to write another post to correct the record indicates that false information and rumors are still being widely spread." She continued, "As I have received a formal apology for the problematic incidents, I do not intend to mention them further through public channels."
She then declared a firm stance: "I will resolutely respond and take legal action against baseless speculation, the spread of unconfirmed false information, and insulting remarks that infringe upon personal rights," adding, "I feel sorry for having to write about unpleasant news consecutively, but I intend to correct what needs to be corrected."
Previously, Soyou had claimed she experienced discriminatory treatment on a Delta Air Lines flight from New York to Korea and was unable to eat for 15 hours. After rumors circulated that she was intoxicated, Soyou directly refuted them, stating, "I only consumed a small amount of alcohol provided with meals in the lounge before boarding and completed the boarding process without any issues or restrictions."
Netizens reacted with support, commenting, 'Stay strong, Soyou!', 'It's a relief you received an apology from the airline,' and 'Spreading false information is truly wrong, we support your legal action.'
