Remembering the Laughter: 5 Years Since the Passing of Comedian Park Ji-sun

It has been five years since beloved comedian Park Ji-sun tragically left us.

Park Ji-sun passed away on November 2, 2020, leaving the entertainment industry and her fans in shock and deep sorrow. She was found deceased at her home in Mapo-gu, Seoul, along with her mother.

Police investigated the scene and, finding no signs of external intrusion and a note suggestive of her intentions, concluded there were no criminal charges. To respect the family's wishes, an autopsy was not performed.

Park Ji-sun was cherished for her bright and humorous persona, making her sudden departure, just a day before her birthday, even more heartbreaking.

The funeral service, held three days later on November 5, was attended by numerous colleagues including Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Shin-young, Ahn Young-mi, SHINee's Key, Park Bo-young, and Girls' Generation's Seohyun, who bid a tearful farewell.

Her memory continues to be cherished by those who loved her. Singer Ali and actress Lee Yoon-ji have made annual tributes celebrating her birthday and remembering her.

Just last month, on October 30, Lee Yoon-ji and Ali visited Park Ji-sun's memorial altar to celebrate her birthday in advance. Lee Yoon-ji shared a poignant post about their "autumn picnic," bringing leftover snacks and a thermos of barley tea. She wrote, "The road to you felt unfamiliar today, I kept looking around. It broke my heart to think how you found that path you'd never walked before. It's autumn now, the leaves will change soon."

Ali also shared her feelings, saying, "Thanks to you, who is in a flower garden, we came out for a picnic. I only received today. Thank you for listening. I missed your cute, sharp little front teeth today."

Park Ji-sun debuted as a KBS comedian in 2007 and gained recognition through popular segments on 'Gag Concert.' She won multiple KBS Entertainment Awards for her comedic performances and also showcased her talents as an MC at various events.
