YTN Anchor Kim Seon-young Pens Heartfelt Farewell to Late Husband Lawyer Baek Seong-moon

YTN anchor Kim Seon-young has shared her profound grief and love for her late husband, lawyer Baek Seong-moon.

On November 1st, Kim posted a lengthy message on her husband's social media account, expressing her sorrow over his passing. "My husband, who approached me with a kind smile, lawyer Baek Seong-moon, has entered eternal rest," she wrote.

Kim revealed that her husband was diagnosed with a rare sinus cancer last summer and fought fiercely for over a year with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. "Despite the arduous battle, he never once grimaced. He was a gentle soul who, even while struggling to swallow water, would prioritize my meals first," she recalled fondly.

She continued, "He dreamed of returning to broadcast until the very end. Even when he lost vision in one eye during chemotherapy, he told himself he had to protect his wife and exercised by walking barefoot. Our earnest prayers to be together longer were ultimately unanswered."

Kim described his peaceful passing, saying he looked as if he were merely asleep. "Before he passed, I whispered in his ear, calling him by his nickname, 'Madam Kim,' telling him, 'Madam Kim will endure and be alright, so don't worry and go to a place where you are no longer in pain,'" she shared, recounting their final moments.

"We couldn't keep our promise to return to Paris, our honeymoon destination, for our 10th anniversary, but I'll substitute that wish with this picture of Paris that he loved the most," she concluded.

Lawyer Baek Seong-moon passed away on October 31st at approximately 2:08 AM, after battling cancer. He was 52 years old. His wake is being held at Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall, Room 35, with the funeral procession scheduled for November 2nd at 7 AM.
