Actress Jang Hye-jin has shared a behind-the-scenes story about gaining 20 kilograms for her role in the film 'Parasite', sparking interest among fans.

Appearing as a guest on the MBC variety show 'Point of Omniscient Interfere' on the 1st, alongside singer Roy Kim, Jang Hye-jin offered insights into her life and career.

During the broadcast, Jang Hye-jin showcased her morning routine, tidying her home before enjoying a healthy, homemade breakfast. The panel members, observing her current slender figure, commented on the noticeable difference from her appearance in 'Parasite', asking if she had intentionally gained weight for the part.

Jang Hye-jin recalled, "Director Bong Joon-ho asked me to gain some weight, so I ate six meals a day to do so." She revealed that she had increased her weight by 20 kilograms, from her original 57 kilograms.

She further added with a laugh, "Losing the weight was actually quite quick. But then, for my next project, they told me they didn't expect me to be this thin, so I had to gain weight again."

Jang Hye-jin received critical acclaim for her perfect portrayal of the character Chung-sook in 'Parasite'. Her meticulous weight management and immersion into the character were praised for enhancing the film's realism.
