2PM's Taecyeon to Marry Long-Term Girlfriend, Dubbed 'Lover from Paris'

Taecyeon, a member of the K-pop group 2PM and a rising actor, is officially joining the ranks of married men.

His agency, 51k, confirmed on the 1st that Taecyeon has promised to spend his life with a partner he has been in a serious relationship with for a long time. His fiancée is the individual he publicly dated for over five years, and has been affectionately referred to as his 'Lover from Paris'.

"They have promised to embark on a lifelong journey together," the agency stated. "The wedding ceremony will be held privately next spring at a location in Seoul, attended only by family members and close acquaintances."

Taecyeon himself shared the happy news directly with fans through a heartfelt handwritten letter posted on his social media. "I've promised to spend the rest of my life with someone who has believed in me for a long time," he wrote. "We aim to be a reliable presence for each other as we walk through life together."

He also expressed his gratitude to his fans, saying, "I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me with unwavering hearts until I became who I am today. Your love and support have given me immeasurable strength."

He added, "I will continue to do my best to repay the love and trust you've shown me as a 2PM member, an actor, and as your Taecyeon."

Taecyeon's fiancée is the same person whose relationship he first publicly acknowledged after his debut in 2020. The couple continued their public relationship for over five years, nurturing their love. Last December, they were captured enjoying a date, walking hand-in-hand through the streets of Seoul, which garnered significant attention.

Earlier this year, in February, 'marriage rumors' began circulating following the release of snapshot photos taken with his girlfriend in Paris. The photos, which showed Taecyeon kneeling and presenting a ring to his girlfriend with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, fueled speculation about a proposal. The exposure of his non-celebrity girlfriend's face also drew considerable attention, leading to an official apology from the photo company.

At the time, Taecyeon's agency denied the marriage rumors, stating it was an "event to celebrate his girlfriend's birthday." However, with the official marriage announcement nine months later, those rumors have now been confirmed. Taecyeon becomes the second member of 2PM to get married, following Hwang Chan-sung.
