Do Kyung-wan Clarifies Frequent 'Buy It For Me' Remarks to Jang Yoon-jeong: "It's Marital Synergy"
Broadcaster Do Kyung-wan has stepped in to clarify his frequent 'buy it for me' remarks directed at his wife, singer Jang Yoon-jeong.
On a video uploaded on his YouTube channel 'DoJang TV' on the 31st, titled 'DoJang Couple's Third Child Plan Official Statement l I had some alone time drinking during the day because no one was home,' Do Kyung-wan addressed the topic.
He began by saying, 'I want to offer a clarification, or rather, not a clarification. People have been asking why I keep asking Jang Yoon-jeong to buy things for me.'
This stems from a previous appearance on JTBC's entertainment show 'Leaving Home to Live Separately,' where Do Kyung-wan playfully remarked, 'Buy me one of those,' upon seeing a yacht. Jang Yoon-jeong then humorously revealed, 'The phrase he uses most often is 'buy it for me.''
Do Kyung-wan explained, 'There's a synergy between couples. If I were to say something like, 'Buy me the new iPhone 17,' that would be a burden on my spouse. But when I say 'buy it for me,' it's our way of communicating,' he explained.
He added, 'We get along like friends. For example, if we're passing by and I say, 'Honey, that boat on the Han River is so pretty. Buy me a yacht,' and it ends up in the news. This is like our couple's inhale and exhale, so please don't scrutinize it too much and just enjoy it as a lighthearted remark made for entertainment purposes. Please don't see it negatively,' he emphasized, highlighting that these were simply casual jokes made within a close relationship.
Netizens reacted with amusement, commenting things like, 'You two look so lovey-dovey,' 'Maybe he's just being cute and affectionate towards his wife,' and 'It's just a marital expression of affection, why take it so seriously?'
