Mimi, a member of the popular K-pop group OH MY GIRL, has garnered attention after candidly discussing her reasons for not being in a relationship and revealing her ideal type.
In the episode of TV Chosun's 'A Respected Chef's Meal Trip' that aired on the 2nd, Mimi joined veteran broadcaster Heo Young-man on a culinary journey through Hoengseong, Gangwon Province.
At the start of the broadcast, Heo Young-man hinted at his guest, saying, 'In my 7 years of filming 'Meal Trip', I don't think I'll hear the title 'teacher' for the first time today.' The guest who then exclaimed 'Uncle!' was none other than OH MY GIRL's Mimi. She introduced herself as 'OH MY GIRL's Mimi and Young-man Uncle's niece,' highlighting their existing relationship. The two previously worked together on KBS 2TV's 'K-Food Show: The Nation of Taste,' fostering a comfortable 'uncle' and 'niece' dynamic.
When Heo Young-man asked Mimi why she wasn't dating at the age of 30, she answered without hesitation, 'There's no particular reason.' She further elaborated, 'There's no one around who's specifically approaching me,' and added, 'And I'm not actively giving off any signals either.'
Mimi also shared her firm thoughts on the nature of relationships. When asked about her ideal type, she stated, 'Unless we meet like childhood friends, get to know each other inside and out, and naturally fall in love, I don't think I'll date.'
Notably, the ideal type Mimi mentioned was the character 'Yang Gwan-sik' from the recent drama 'When My Love Blooms' (tentative title 'Ughirasu'). Yang Gwan-sik was a beloved character known for his steadfast devotion to one woman. While discussing the character, Mimi couldn't hide her bright smile, saying, 'Just imagining it makes me happy. How cool is that?'
Korean netizens reacted positively to Mimi's honest confessions, with comments such as, 'Mimi's ideal type is totally my style,' and 'Yang Gwan-sik was such a charming character.' Many expressed empathy with her thoughtful approach to dating.
