Singer Sung Si-kyung is weathering a storm of unfortunate events, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

Back in May, his agency issued a warning after fraudsters impersonated the production team of his YouTube channel 'Meok을 텐데' (Eating Show). The scammers posed as staff filming a second season, attempting to book restaurants and then pressuring them to purchase expensive alcohol and hand over money. Sung's agency, SK Jaewon, clarified on social media that their production team never requests alcohol purchases or money, and shared the scammer's contact information, urging caution.

Just when it seemed things might settle, a more devastating blow struck. Approximately six months later, on November 3rd, Sung's agency officially announced a financial dispute and the parting of ways with a manager who had worked with him for over a decade. This manager was a key figure, handling practical aspects of concerts, broadcasts, advertisements, and events, and was known to have a deep bond with Sung, even attending his wedding.

However, the agency revealed that the manager was confirmed to have acted in a way that betrayed the company's trust during their duties. An investigation into the extent of the damages is currently underway, and the employee has since resigned, adding to the shock.

Sung himself took to Instagram to share his feelings, writing, "The past few months have been a continuous period of intense pain and difficulty. Experiencing a breach of trust from someone I believed in, cherished, and considered family, for the first time in my 25-year career, is incredibly hard."

The consecutive controversies, from the impersonation scam to the internal betrayal, have left fans concerned. Many expressed their sorrow, noting, "I always thought of him as an icon of trust..." The revelation that the split with his "10-year confidant" wasn't just a simple separation but involved financial betrayal has clearly left a deep wound.

His agency acknowledged their responsibility for management and supervision, stating, "We are taking responsibility for our management and supervision and are reorganizing our internal control systems." They concluded with a sincere apology: "We deeply apologize for causing concern to our fans."
