Kim Soo-hyun's Side Urges Swift Resolution Amidst Concerns Over Kim Sae-ron Related Investigation Delays

Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative has expressed cautious optimism while urging a swift conclusion to the ongoing investigation related to the late Kim Sae-ron.

On the 3rd, attorney Ko Sang-rok, representing actor Kim Soo-hyun, shared his stance via his channel regarding the police's update on the investigation.

"While the police may have stated that the investigation has 'progressed significantly,' I personally have concerns about whether the investigation has been properly conducted based on the essence and core of the case," attorney Ko stated.

He added, "At this point, seven and a half months after the initial complaint (March 20th), we have no plans to request or desire a change to a new investigative team. However, from the victim's perspective, excessive time is being spent on seeking redress for their rights, so we hope for a prompt conclusion to the investigation."

Attorney Ko further explained, "The release of some of the actor's private records was an unavoidable measure to correct the public's distorted perception. As the investigation has been delayed, speculation has spread, damaging the actor's reputation."

Previously, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Superintendent Park Jeong-bo had mentioned at a regular press briefing that while the investigation was initially slow due to its division among several departments, it is now expected to proceed with speed, and the existing team will continue to handle the case.

Kim Soo-hyun's side has consistently maintained a firm stance amidst the legal dispute with the late Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family, asserting that 'the essence of the case lies in distorted claims.' Last month, attorney Ko Sang-rok had also argued, "False materials and manipulated audio files have damaged the reputation of an innocent victim," calling it an "international-scale character assassination case."

Currently, both Kim Soo-hyun and the late Kim Sae-ron's bereaved family are in a state of mutual lawsuits, with both sides' claims clashing intensely. Kim Soo-hyun's side is pursuing defamation and damages lawsuits, and the case is being handled by the investigation team at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station.
