Model Byun Ji-won Shares Heartfelt Grief for Deceased Brother Byun Young-hoon
Model and actress Byun Ji-won has shared her profound sorrow for her younger brother, the late Byun Young-hoon, touching the hearts of many.
Byun Ji-won recently posted a past photo of Byun Young-hoon on her social media, accompanied by the poignant caption, "Seeing the red autumn leaves through the morning veranda window. For a moment, it reminded me of my mother’s complexion as she wept uncontrollably while caressing your grave back then."
She continued, "At times, the elegant beauty of the maple leaves, like nobility, appears that red color to my eyes today," adding, "Can I ever forget? Even as time passes and changes year by year, day by day, the faces of those who left us first live on in my heart."
Byun Ji-won expressed her heartfelt emotions, writing, "I'm sorry. I love you. Thank you," and concluded with, "My brother, our mother, longing."
The accompanying photograph, showing Byun Young-hoon in his younger days, stirred memories among fans. Netizens commented, "He was an actor I really liked back then," "It was such a tragic accident," and "He is still remembered today," as they paid tribute to the deceased.
Responding to the fans' condolences, Byun Ji-won replied, "Thank you for remembering him. I miss my brother so much. I couldn't say a single word of comfort or hold him when he was struggling," she shared, her voice filled with emotion. "I deeply miss my brother, who left us so suddenly in a helicopter crash."
Meanwhile, the late Byun Young-hoon tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in 1993 while filming the movie 'A Woman Above a Man.' He was 31 years old at the time of the accident, which claimed the lives of seven people, including Byun Young-hoon. He debuted as a KBS 13th public talent in 1989 and gained popularity through dramas such as MBC's 'Kingdom of Rage' and KBS1's 'Azaleas Beneath the Roots.'
