Sung Si-kyung Pauses Activities After Manager's Betrayal

Singer Sung Si-kyung has decided to take a break from his activities after experiencing a profound betrayal from his manager of over a decade.

His agency, SK Jaewon, confirmed on the 3rd, "It has been confirmed that Sung Si-kyung's former manager engaged in acts that betrayed the company's trust during their work duties. Following an internal investigation, we are recognizing the severity of the matter and are currently assessing the exact scope of damages." The employee has since resigned.

This manager had worked closely with Sung Si-kyung for more than 10 years, handling all aspects of his career, including concerts, broadcasts, advertisements, and events. The manager was also a familiar face to fans through appearances on Sung Si-kyung's YouTube channel, 'Neukkim'. Sung Si-kyung had shown extraordinary loyalty, even fully covering the manager's wedding expenses, making the betrayal particularly shocking.

Sung Si-kyung himself shared his distress on social media, stating, "Experiencing a breach of trust from someone I believed in, cherished, and considered family is not the first time in my 25-year career, but it's still not easy at my age." He admitted, "I tried to maintain my daily life and pretend I was okay, but I felt my body, mind, and voice were severely strained while carrying out YouTube content and scheduled concert performances."

Ultimately, after much deliberation about whether and how he could perform on stage, Sung Si-kyung has decided to take a hiatus, not only from his year-end concerts but also pausing his YouTube show 'Neukkim' for a week.
