Jeon Yeo-been on Co-star Jin Young: 'Felt Sorry for Him Due to Mixed Reactions on Our Romance'
Actress Jeon Yeo-been spoke about her chemistry with Jin Young in the recently concluded Genie TV original series, 'The Good Bad Girl' (literal translation).
'The Good Bad Girl,' which aired its finale on the 4th, is a crime romance drama about a low-income female bodyguard (played by Jeon Yeo-been) who enters into a contract marriage with a terminally ill chaebol chairman. She must change her identity and survive for three months to evade those eyeing the vast inheritance, all while facing a three-month countdown to a life reset.
Jeon Yeo-been, who portrayed Kim Young-ran and also the titular Bu-sae-mi, developed a romantic storyline with Jin Young, who played the single father with a devoted love, Jeon Dong-min.

Addressing this, Jeon Yeo-been cautiously stated, "When I first joined the drama, it wasn't strictly a crime thriller. I believed it encompassed all genres. Romance and comic human elements were the main threads, with crime thriller layered on top." She added, "Perhaps viewers, having seen the intense aspects in the first two episodes, felt the romance in the latter half became more pronounced."
She further explained, "The writer and director intended to give Young-ran, who had never lived an ordinary life, 'warmth' and happiness. They seemed to want to talk about love between humans." Jeon Yeo-been affirmed, "Since I agreed with the world they wanted to portray, I also believed that was the direction the drama needed to go."
Speaking about her collaboration with Jin Young, she recalled, "He's a very quiet person, but he also quietly took care of everyone. He always cheered, saying the drama would do well, and stayed supportive even when his character wasn't prominently featured." She continued, "I am only grateful to Jin Young. Regarding the mixed reactions to the romance, I also felt sorry for him. He was like a pillar of support, genuinely bringing the team together. Yet, he was the friend who helped everyone stay united until the end."
Jeon Yeo-been concluded with a heartwarming thought: "Perhaps Dong-min was portrayed as warm and sincere because he resembled Jin Young's true nature."
