Billlie's Tsuki Makes Hollywood Debut in Thriller 'Perfect Girl'
Tsuki, a member of the K-pop group Billlie, is set to make her Hollywood acting debut.
She has officially been cast in the upcoming Hollywood film 'Perfect Girl,' a thriller set against the backdrop of the K-pop industry, marking a significant new chapter in her career beyond music.
'Perfect Girl' delves into the intense world of K-pop trainees, exploring themes of ambition, anxiety, and the mysterious events that unfold amidst fierce competition. The film is expected to captivate audiences with its shocking plot twists and unpredictable suspense, centering around a mysterious girl who appears one day. The screenplay is penned by Lynn Q. Yu, who was selected for the 2023 Hollywood 'Blacklist' of anticipated projects, and the film will be directed by Hong Won-ki, known for his work on 'The 8th Night,' 'Urban Myths,' and 'The Ghost Station.' Badlands and Thunder Road Films are producing.
Tsuki aims to translate the nuanced emotional expression and immersive presence she's showcased on stage to the big screen. She will portray the complex inner turmoil of a character grappling with passion for music, insecurity, and unexpected circumstances. Notably, Tsuki has previously collaborated with Hong Won-ki's Zanybros on Billlie's music videos for hits like 'GingaMingaYo (the strange world)' and 'Peaches,' hinting at a strong creative synergy in this new project.
Adding to the film's star power, Hollywood actress Adeline Rudolph, set to appear as Kitana in 'Mortal Kombat 2,' and Arden Cho, a lead in the Netflix global hit animation 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' are also on board. Tsuki is expected to heighten the film's suspense by navigating intricate relationships and emotional tension alongside these international talents.
Tsuki has already demonstrated her global appeal, forming the first sub-unit within Billlie with member Moon Sua. Their title track 'SNAP (feat. sokodomo)' charted high on iTunes K-pop top charts in 10 countries. More recently, she expanded her musical horizons by featuring in the collaboration song 'WoW (Way of Winning)' with Mystic Story's junior group ARrC. In September, Billlie appeared on Apple TV+'s 'KPOPPED,' performing alongside artists like Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion, solidifying their presence on the global stage.
Fans are expressing overwhelming support and excitement for Tsuki's Hollywood debut. Comments like "Our Tsuki is finally conquering the big screen too!" and "This combination sounds amazing, I'll definitely watch the movie!" flood social media, cheering her on for this new venture.
