MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'The Moon Rising Over the Han River' is set to premiere on the 7th, and anticipation is soaring as lead actors Kang Tae-oh and Kim Se-jeong reveal the secrets behind their perfectly synchronized 'soul swap' performances.
'The Moon Rising Over the Han River' is a historical fantasy romance depicting the story of Crown Prince Lee Kang (played by Kang Tae-oh), who has lost his smile, and Park Dal-i (played by Kim Se-jeong), a bobosang who has lost his memory, as their souls are swapped. The chemistry between the two actors, who have already garnered significant attention through teaser videos, is highly anticipated.
Kang Tae-oh shared that he closely observed Kim Se-jeong's portrayal of Park Dal-i to embody the character's external traits. "I strived to capture the external characterization of Park Dal-i that Kim Se-jeong infused into the role. We met separately for readings, discussed how the character would think in given situations, and even helped each other by recording and sending lines," he explained.
Kim Se-jeong also spoke about her efforts to perfectly embody the character of Lee Kang, including mimicking Kang Tae-oh's resonance. "We set aside a day to read the script with swapped roles and shared ideas whenever we encountered difficulties. I tried to catch and imitate Kang Tae-oh's habits and tone, and I especially researched his resonance," she revealed.
The remarkable teamwork of the two actors, who meticulously crafted every detail, is expected to deliver laughter and emotion in 'The Moon Rising Over the Han River.'
Netizens are expressing high expectations for the unique chemistry between Kang Tae-oh and Kim Se-jeong ahead of the broadcast. Comments like 'I can feel the actors' passion for their roles' and 'The soul swap concept sounds fresh and fun' are flooding online communities.
