Stray Kids' Bang Chan & Felix Invite Fans to 'G'day' in Australia Tourism Campaign Chapter 2
Tourism Australia has officially launched Chapter 2 of its global brand campaign, 'Time to meet the real Australia, G'day,' in Korea.
Notably, Bang Chan and Felix from K-pop group Stray Kids, who spent their childhood in Australia, are participating to deliver a special invitation to Korean travelers.
The campaign aims to convey the core message, 'A holiday that lasts a lifetime,' through its brand ambassador, 'Ruby the Kangaroo.' It features sensory videos expressing the lasting impressions and unique experiences of an Australian trip.
Bang Chan and Felix, selected for the Korean market, showcase Australia's charm in a friendly and authentic manner, appearing in locations like Sydney Harbour and Bondi Beach, which hold personal memories for them.
'In Australia, the atmosphere of being warmly welcomed with a 'G'day!' always made me feel accepted,' said Bang Chan. 'That's why Australia is always special and a place I definitely want to revisit.' Felix added, 'The times I spent at the beach with family and friends as a child are still vivid. Enjoying surfing during the day and eating ice cream at sunset, the sea breeze felt like precious memories.'
The campaign also features global stars such as Australian wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin and British food writer Nigella Lawson.
Tourism Australia is focusing on the Korean market due to its explosive growth. Since the first campaign launch in October 2022, searches for flights to Australia have increased by 22%. Korea has emerged as one of the fastest-growing markets, with Australian tourist numbers to Korea surging by approximately 33% from 280,500 in 2019 to 374,000 in 2024.
'This campaign is more than just an advertisement; it's an invitation for Korean travelers to discover the true beauty of Australia and create memories that will last a lifetime,' said Derek Baines, Regional General Manager for Korea and Japan at Tourism Australia. 'We hope this campaign inspires more Koreans to travel to Australia.'
'Time to meet the real Australia, G'day Chapter 2' has been sequentially released in major international markets like China, the US, and Japan this year, concluding with the launch in Korea.
Korean netizens expressed excitement, commenting, 'It's great to see Bang Chan and Felix together,' 'I want to make memories in Australia like them,' and 'Their recommendation makes me trust Australian travel more.'
