Model Moon Ga-bi Enraged by AI Synthesis of Son's Photos: 'Unauthorized Use and False Interview'
Model Moon Ga-bi has expressed strong anger after her son's photos were used without consent in an AI-generated synthesis.
On May 5th, Moon Ga-bi shared on her social media, "On the 30th, I shared an update on my recent life with a few photos." She emphasized, "These were photos of a mother and son's ordinary daily life, capturing the child's appearance. However, I have never revealed any photos or videos where my child's face is clearly visible, anywhere."
She continued, expressing her frustration, "Despite this, an account unrelated to me unauthorizedly used the photos I posted, illegally creating content that made it seem as if I had revealed my child's face and left an official interview-like statement."
She firmly requested, "The appearance of my child and me in that video, along with the accompanying text, is clearly false and not true. It is an AI-synthesized video created through unauthorized use of the original photos. I strongly urge you to refrain from further acts that violate the law by distorting the daily lives of mothers and children, including false photos/videos of my child's actual appearance. I implore you."
Meanwhile, Moon Ga-bi announced the birth of her son last November, and the news that the child's biological father is actor Jung Woo-sung garnered significant attention. At the time, Jung Woo-sung's agency acknowledged the child born out of wedlock and stated he would fulfill his responsibilities as a father. Jung Woo-sung later legally married his non-celebrity girlfriend in August.
Netizens reacted with outrage, commenting, "It's outrageous that they used AI for synthesized videos," "Stay strong, Moon Ga-bi," and "Mishandling a child's face is a crime." They voiced support for Moon Ga-bi and criticized the misuse of AI.
