Actress Lee Si-young (43) has given birth to her second child, conceived from embryos that were cryopreserved during her marriage to her ex-husband.

On the afternoon of the 5th, Lee Si-young shared photos with her baby on Instagram, writing, "I consider this a gift from God to Mom, and I will make Jeongyun and Ssikssik happy for the rest of my life. Thank you so much, Professor Won Hye-seong. I will live without forgetting your gratitude."

Previously, in July, Lee Si-young had announced her pregnancy on social media. She explained, "I had cryopreserved embryos fertilized through IVF during my marriage. As the divorce proceedings were ongoing and the storage period was nearing its end, I decided to proceed with implantation as I couldn't bear to discard the embryos."

While her ex-husband's consent was not obtained at the time, it was reported that she made the decision alone after much deliberation.

Lee Si-young announced her divorce in March of this year after seven years of marriage, and the news of her second pregnancy approximately four months later garnered significant attention.

The news of Lee Si-young's pregnancy and childbirth has brought sensitive social issues such as in-vitro fertilization, embryo preservation, and single parenthood back into public discussion, sparking a variety of debates.

Netizens have expressed support and congratulations, with comments such as 'Congratulations! I believe you will be a great mother to your child,' 'Applause for your courage, Lee Si-young,' and 'It must have been a difficult decision, but I support you.'
