Jinyoung Reflects on 'The Good Bad Mother' as a 'Gift' After Successful Finale

Actor Jinyoung shared his heartfelt thoughts after the successful conclusion of the Genie TV original drama 'The Good Bad Mother'.

In an interview held on the 4th at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Jinyoung expressed his affection for the drama, mentioning, "We hoped to surpass 7% in viewership ratings as we were promised a reward vacation if we did." He fondly recalled the set as a happy environment with wonderful people, including the director, actors, and staff. "I thought, 'I hope this kind of project does well,' and it makes me feel even better that viewers have shown so much love," he said, unable to hide his pride.

Taking on the role of the single father, Jeon Dong-min, for the first time in this drama, Jinyoung stated, "Playing a father was a challenge. There was a huge gap from my previous role, so I was worried at first, but I was intrigued by the potential for a reversal in charm." He admitted to the difficulties of portraying paternal love but emphasized his best efforts, including trying to bond with the child actor. While rating his performance around 60 points with a hint of dissatisfaction, he added that he had no regrets due to the many lessons learned from the project.

Through 'The Good Bad Mother', Jinyoung shared a shift in his acting philosophy, aspiring to become an actor who delivers "natural dialogue, as if having a real conversation." He strived to "act with minimal effort, making it sound like a conversation rather than recited lines."
