Park Si-hoo Returns to the Big Screen After a Decade with 'The Fake Orchestra,' Citing 'The Scenario's Intense Power'
Actor Park Si-hoo has chosen 'The Fake Orchestra' (Director Kim Hyung-seop) as his comeback film to the silver screen after 10 years, explaining his decision was due to 'the scenario's intense power.'
Set to premiere in December, 'The Fake Orchestra' depicts the story of a fake propaganda troupe created to earn foreign currency in North Korea. Park Si-hoo takes on the role of 'Park Gyo-sun,' a North Korean State Security officer tasked with forming the 'fake troupe' to secure $200 million.
Regarding his return to film after a long hiatus, Park Si-hoo stated, 'As it's been a while, I carefully reviewed the script.' He added, 'The peculiar concept of a 'fake orchestra' and the internal conflicts and extreme duality experienced by the character 'Park Gyo-sun' were incredibly compelling. There was no reason to hesitate.' He expressed strong confidence in the project.
Park Si-hoo continued, 'It's a film where I played a North Korean soldier for the first time and enjoyed working with the best staff and fellow actors after a long time. I hope to meet you with a film that offers warm emotion.'
The production of 'The Fake Orchestra' involved intense dedication, with cast and crew working as one, even amidst extreme conditions like 30-degree Celsius heat and overseas shoots in Mongolia and Hungary. Director Kim Hyung-seop commented, 'Even in unfamiliar environments and harsh climates, all the actors and staff endured together with one heart. That passion is captured on screen.' He expressed strong confidence in the film, anticipating that the exotic scenery and on-site realism captured during filming will enhance the movie's scale and immersion.
Park Si-hoo, known for his irreplaceable charm and wide acting spectrum in dramas like 'Prosecutor Princess,' 'The Princess' Man,' and 'When My Love Blooms,' is drawing attention for his portrayal of 'Park Gyo-sun,' a character that will showcase his decade-long acting experience. The film also features director Kim Hyung-seop, Park Si-hoo, Jung Jin-woon, Tae Hang-ho, Seo Dong-won, and 10 other trusted actors, promising to depict the miraculous moment when 'fake' becomes 'real' with delightful humor and touching emotion.
Korean netizens are eagerly anticipating Park Si-hoo's return to the big screen after a decade, with comments like 'So excited for Park Si-hoo's comeback movie after 10 years!' and 'A North Korean setting with action sounds fresh!' Many are also looking forward to Jung Jin-woon's role, expressing 'I have to watch it because Jung Jin-woon is in it too.'
