Ra Mi-ran Reveals Hesitation Over 'Perfect Glow' Casting: 'Why Me?'

Actress Ra Mi-ran candidly shared her initial thoughts when she first received the offer to star in tvN's new entertainment program, 'Perfect Glow'.

The production presentation for 'Perfect Glow' took place online on the morning of November 6th, with PD Kim Sang-a, Ra Mi-ran, Park Min-young, Joo Jong-hyuk, Cha Hong, Leo J, and Pony in attendance.

'Perfect Glow' follows the journey of South Korea's top hair and makeup experts, led by director Ra Mi-ran and manager Park Min-young, as they open a Korean-style beauty shop in Manhattan, New York, showcasing the true essence of K-beauty to the local audience. The show is set to premiere on November 8th (Saturday) at 10:50 PM.

When asked about her feelings upon receiving the casting proposal, Ra Mi-ran confessed, "My first thought was, 'Why me?' I've usually shown a more relaxed side in travel shows, so I wondered why they'd want me for a K-beauty program." She added, "Although they assured me I wouldn't feel pressured as a director, it actually made me feel even more burdened."

Ra Mi-ran admitted it took her some time to accept the offer, expressing concerns about potentially being a detriment to the show's format. "Usually, I decide within an hour, but this time it took about three hours... no, maybe three days?" she said with a laugh.

She continued, "I worried I might be the one to dampen the mood, but I decided to take on the challenge as it felt like a fresh experience for me."

Meanwhile, tvN's 'Perfect Glow' will air its first episode on November 8th at 10:50 PM.
