Former Crayon Pop member Wei has shared realistic advice regarding extreme dieting methods.

In a YouTube video released on her channel 'Weiland' on the 5th, titled 'Reasons K-Pop Diets Fail + How to Succeed,' Wei pointed out the dangers of relying on short-term weight loss strategies, referencing recent public discussions surrounding Hyuna and Dayoung.

"Dayoung's abs are so pretty lately. It was inspiring," Wei began, but continued, "I heard she lost 12kg in a short period by starving. I saw her struggling to do even one squat on Shim Euddeum's YouTube. If you diet like this, yo-yoing is inevitable."

Wei admitted to having starved herself in the past but declared, "I've graduated from that. Now that I'm a 'maintenance eater,' my stomach has shrunk, and I've escaped binge eating and compensatory psychology. My stamina improved, my work is going well, and I'm mentally healthier," emphasizing the importance of sustainable management.

Following her concerns for Dayoung, Wei also expressed worry for Hyuna. The singer recently garnered attention by sharing posts like 'I liked being super skinny before. Let's do it again,' and confirming she weighed 49kg after just one month.

Wei reacted with concern: "I felt so sorry seeing her social media posts. She was blaming herself, saying 'You used to be super skinny.' While it's good if the intention is to be healthy, she used words like 'X-muk' [a Korean slang term related to eating and then restricting]. That's compensatory psychology. It ultimately means wanting to starve again."

She concluded by advising, "If you repeat this, you'll experience the yo-yo effect again in a few months or a year. As you get older, starving doesn't help you lose weight anymore." Wei stressed, "You can be beautiful enough without starving. Eating well, sleeping well, and exercising consistently is real dieting."

Korean netizens reacted positively to Wei's realistic advice, with comments like 'She's right, I suffered from yo-yo effect after starving,' 'Health is truly the best. I should manage myself healthily like Wei,' and 'It's heartbreaking to see idol diets.'
