Jang Ki-yong Picks 'The First Kiss' as a Key Highlight for 'Why You Shouldn't Be Kissed!'

Actor Jang Ki-yong has highlighted the 'first kiss' as a crucial viewing point for the upcoming SBS drama 'Why You Shouldn't Be Kissed!'

The drama, set to premiere on the 12th, tells the story of a single woman who pretends to be a mother to get a job and the team leader who falls in love with her, unfolding a story of unrequited love from both sides.

Jang Ki-yong takes on the role of Gong Ji-hyuk, a seemingly perfect man who becomes completely smitten after a 'catastrophic kiss.' He is expected to create romantic chemistry with co-star Ahn Eun-jin, who plays the role of Go Da-rim.

Reflecting on his preparation, Jang Ki-yong shared, "I tend to think a lot when I first encounter a project and character. I read the script thoroughly, discuss it with the director, and ask many questions when I'm unsure. For 'Why You Shouldn't Be Kissed!', we also filmed while communicating and conversing a lot on set."

He added, "I worked hard to express the lively feel of the script. When I started acting on set, the character of Gong Ji-hyuk turned out to be much more multifaceted and chameleon-like than I expected. I tried not to lose focus until the very end of filming to capture this aspect."

When asked about the drama's true charm from his perspective, Jang Ki-yong emphasized the kisses. "There are many kisses, so I hope many couples will watch it," he said. "The first meeting and the first kiss between Gong Ji-hyuk and Go Da-rim are very dynamic. If you follow their emotions, you'll be able to enjoy the drama even more," he advised.
