Park Si-hoo Returns to the Big Screen After 10 Years with 'The Fake Orchestra'

Actor Park Si-hoo is set to make his comeback to the big screen after a decade.

The film 'The Fake Orchestra,' scheduled to premiere in December, tells the story of a fake propaganda troupe formed for the purpose of earning foreign currency in North Korea.

In the movie, Park Si-hoo takes on the role of Park Gyo-soon, a North Korean State Security officer tasked with leading the mission to create a 'fake orchestra' to earn $200 million.

Reflecting on his choice for his first film role in 10 years, Park Si-hoo stated, "As it's been a while since my return, I reviewed the script very carefully." He continued, "'The Fake Orchestra' captivated me with its ingenious premise of a 'fake orchestra' and the internal conflicts and extreme duality experienced by the character 'Park Gyo-soon' within it. There was no reason to hesitate."

He added, "This is a film I shot enjoyably with the best staff and fellow actors and juniors, playing a North Korean soldier for the first time in a while. I look forward to meeting you with a film that offers warm emotion."

The film achieved high quality through the dedication of both cast and crew, even amidst challenging overseas locations in Mongolia and Hungary, and extreme environments with temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius. Director Kim Hyung-hyub commented, "Despite the unfamiliar environment and harsh climate, all the actors and staff endured together with one heart. That passion is vividly captured on screen."

'The Fake Orchestra' features director Kim Hyung-hyub, Park Si-hoo returning after 10 years, Jung Jin-woon, who promises a fierce acting transformation, along with veteran actors Tae Hang-ho, Seo Dong-won, Jang Ji-geon, Moon Kyung-min, and Choi Sun-ja.
