NiziU's Nina Denies Dating Rumors, Agency States 'Just Senior-Junior Acquaintances'
Global girl group NiziU's agency has officially denied dating rumors surrounding member Nina.
On the afternoon of the 6th, JYP Entertainment, Nina's management, released a statement addressing reports from Japanese media outlets like Shukan Bunshun, which claimed Nina was dating Hiroto Wakai, the guitarist of the Japanese band Mrs. GREEN APPLE.
The agency stated, "They are simply acquaintances with a senior-junior relationship; there is no romance involved."
The rumors began to circulate on the 4th when Japanese media published articles, accompanied by photos, suggesting Nina and Wakai were seen on a late-night date.
NiziU and Mrs. GREEN APPLE previously collaborated on stage performances, and Motoki Omori of Mrs. GREEN APPLE even participated in composing NiziU's song 'Always.' However, JYP's swift denial has confirmed the reports are untrue.
Wakai Hiroto's side also commented through local media, stating, "There are parts that differ from the truth, but fundamentally, this is the artist's private life," effectively dismissing the rumors.
NiziU was formed through the global audition project 'Nizi Project,' a joint venture between JYP Entertainment and Sony Music.
Fans reacted positively to the news, with comments like, "Glad to hear it's not true, just a senior-junior relationship," and "Thanks for clarifying, NiziU fans can rest easy now." Many expressed support for Nina's future activities.
