GLYF, the beauty brand launched by singer Jeon Somi, has officially apologized for including a design similar to the Red Cross logo in its promotional kit without prior approval.

On the 6th, GLYF released a statement on its official social media channels titled, "Apology Regarding the Emotion Emergency Kit." The brand explained that the "Emotion Emergency Kit" was conceptualized as a package inspired by colors evoking emotions and small comforting goods, and it has no relation to actual medical or relief activities.

However, GLYF admitted to a mistake during the PR kit design process where an element that could be perceived as similar to the symbol of the Korean Red Cross was included without authorization. They expressed deep apologies for not fully recognizing the historical and humanitarian significance, as well as the legal importance of the Red Cross emblem.

In response, GLYF stated that they have immediately ceased the use of the problematic design and related content. Furthermore, they are in the process of recalling and reprinting the packaging for the PR kits that have already been distributed. The brand also pledged to diligently fulfill all necessary measures in consultation with the Korean Red Cross, strengthen legal and ethical review procedures from the brand planning and design stages, and implement regular ethics training for all employees to prevent recurrence.

Netizens who encountered the news reacted by saying, "Mistakes can happen to anyone, but what's important is taking responsibility," "It's good they are correcting it quickly and will be more careful in the future," and "The Red Cross logo is a very sensitive issue, so they need thorough checks next time." Many expressed that they would observe the brand's apology and subsequent actions.
